Terms of Service

1What I do (and don't do)

I'm a mixing & mastering engineer, not a composer or producer.

  • I do: vocal editing (cleanup, timing, pitch correction), mixing vocals with your instrumental, and mastering the final song.
  • I don't: compose, arrange, produce beats, or record your vocals.
  • You provide the instrumental (karaoke / backing track / beat). Please find or buy it yourself, and make sure you're allowed to use it, especially if you plan to release the song.

2Files you send

  • Vocals: dry, unprocessed recordings, with no reverb, autotune or effects baked in. WAV, 44.1 or 48 kHz, 24-bit preferred.
  • Instrumental: the highest quality you have (WAV preferred; MP3 at least 320 kbps).
  • One file per vocal track (lead, doubles, harmonies, ad-libs), all starting at the same point (bar 1 / 0:00).
  • A reference song or notes on the sound you want (optional, but it helps a lot).

I'll check your files after booking. If the recording has problems I can't fix (heavy clipping, loud background noise, strong room echo), I'll tell you and may ask you to re-record.

3Payment

  • 50% upfront to start, 50% after you approve the final mix, before I send the full-quality files.
  • Prices: see the Price List page.
  • Transfer and platform fees (PayPal, etc.) are paid by the client.

4Timeline

  • Simple mix: 5–7 days per song.
  • Complex mix (many vocal layers, harmonies, heavy editing): 7–14 days per song.

The time also depends on my current queue. I'll confirm the exact date after checking your files.

5Revisions

  • 3 free revisions are included, starting from the first mix I send.
  • A revision means adjustments to the mix (levels, effects, tone). Re-recorded vocals or a different instrumental count as a new project.
  • Extra revisions: Rp 20.000 / $3 each.

6Cancellation & refund

  • Before I start working: you can cancel and get your down payment back, minus a 30% cancellation fee. This covers checking your files and holding your slot.Example: total Rp 150.000 → down payment Rp 75.000 → fee Rp 22.500 → refund Rp 52.500.
  • After I start working: no cancellation or refund.

7Delivery

  • Final master: WAV + MP3.
  • Clean versions or other variations (instrumental with your backing vocals, acapella) are available on request for Rp 20.000 / $3.
  • I don't share the project session files (DAW files).

8Display & credit

  • I may use a short clip of your song (raw vs. mixed) in my portfolio and social media. If you want it kept private until release, tell me at the start.
  • Please credit me as "Mixed & mastered by Higeia" and tag @higeia30 (Instagram, TikTok or X).

Questions and Answers

Do I need to provide the instrumental / karaoke?

Yes. I'm a mixing & mastering engineer, not a composer, so I don't make or search for instrumentals. Please send the karaoke or beat together with your vocals.

Where can I get a karaoke / instrumental?
  • YouTube: many creators share free-to-use karaoke tracks for covers. Check the video description for their rules (for example, crediting them) before using one.
  • Official instrumentals from the artist or label, or karaoke track stores.
  • Commission a composer to arrange or create the music the way you want it.

If you plan to release your cover on streaming platforms, make sure the instrumental's license allows that.

I recorded on my phone. Can you still mix it?

Usually yes, as long as the recording is clear: no clipping, quiet room, and no effects added. Send me a sample first and I'll tell you honestly.

Can I send my vocal with reverb or autotune already on it?

Please don't. Effects can't be removed later. Send the dry version, and I'll add the right effects in the mix.

What's the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing balances and polishes your vocal with the instrumental so they sound like one song. Mastering is the final step that makes the song loud, clear and consistent on every speaker and streaming platform.

Can I order mastering only?

Yes. Send the finished mix as one WAV file, with no limiter on the master and some headroom (peaks around -6 dB).

Do you do pitch correction?

Yes, pitch correction is included. By default I keep it natural, so it isn't noticeable.

If you want the autotune effect to be heard on purpose (common in hip-hop, trap or R&B), tell me when you order, and include a reference song if you can.

How many songs can you take at once?

It depends on my queue. I'll tell you the earliest start date when you contact me.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer or e-wallet for Indonesian clients (IDR prices), PayPal for international clients (USD prices).
